KAZU is located In the midst of the trendy restaurant scene in downtown South Norwalk, CT. Working closely with owner Kenji Higuchi, ATMOSPHERE DESIGN incorporated elements of Japanese culture to create a unique and stimulating space that avoids the Asian restaurant cliché. The Samurai’s helmet, origami and the appetite enticing orange-hues inspired this modern translation. The design features a rich interplay of materials. The sushi-bar lies underneath a fascia of copper scales. Translucent fiberglass squares set beneath wooden baffles divides the main dining room.
