INSPIRATION | A word play on the French coup d’etat inspired the concept Atmosphere Design created as a visual expression of the innovative fusion cuisine for this restaurant-bar-nightclub. Taking advantage of the voluminous space and raw concrete of the “brutalist” structure, the design abstracts the struggle between culture and politics, while referencing the warmth and openness of Asia’s indigenous cultures, to produce a sensual, exotic feel. The intimate setting of the main dining room is characterized by contrasts: expansive windows emblazoned with bold symbols of political struggles, military, and invasions; gossamer fabric panels that gently move; and an ethereal glass obelisk filled with butterflies.
